Jessopp Makes Amends At Brands

After disappointment at Donington, Riders Martin Jessopp was determined to be upbeat at Brands Hatch, despite strong sector times, luck again wasn't on his side.

Martin said "After a very difficult opening round at Donington it was important for me to make amends at Brands Hatch Indy Circuit.

The weekend started well with P15 from Friday's practice and then P19 from Saturday qualifying, my times were very close so I was optimistic for Sunday's race.

Race 1 on Sunday I had a good start but after the early crash I was a just a bit too cautious in passing the fallen bikes and lost 4 places, as the race went progressed I managed make my place back up and finished back up in 16th just one place off points.

Race two saw very little changes to the bike as the set up was pretty much spot on, again after a good start again I lost a couple of places on the first lap after being pushed wide -  other riders snuck through the gap.

Despite fighting hard back through the field I could only manage a finishing position of 20th which was frustrating but overall I am very happy with performance. Throughout both races my times were strong, in the last sector of the track I recorded 5th overall fastest.

So the plans are to keep working, keep pushing whilst still on the standard BMW engine, I'm looking forward to testing at Oulton Park this Friday ready for the Bank Holiday weekend's action.

Mine and the team's thoughts are with James James Puttrell, 25 and Jordy de Jonge who are in hospital following an incident in the National Superstock 600 race."
